Here’s the updated daily weather forecast from Friday, May 30 to Friday, June 6th by Meteorologist Matthew Moll of New England Weather Consulting:
Eastern Massachusetts transitions from a stormy end to May into a warmer, more settled start to June. A frontal system brings showers and a few thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday, but no flooding is expected. Behind it, drier and more seasonable air moves in for Sunday and Monday, bringing crisp, spring conditions. By midweek, a ridge of high pressure may take hold—setting the stage for a warm, summerlike pattern across the region.
Friday, May 30 — Mild with Building Clouds, Showers Late:
Partly sunny and seasonable through the day across eastern MA, with highs in the mid-70s and increasing southwest winds. Clouds thicken during the afternoon, and a few spot showers may develop after 3 p.m. A more organized round of rain arrives overnight, with patchy fog and a chance of rumbles of thunder late.
• High: 74–76°F | Low: 59°F | Wind: SW 7–11 mph, easing after dark
• Chance of rain: 60% (mainly overnight)
Saturday, May 31 — Rainy Start, Then Cooler with Thunder Risk:
Rain and embedded thunderstorms are likely during the morning, tapering to showers and drizzle in the afternoon. Fog is possible early in coastal areas. Temperatures run cooler than average with limited sunshine. Some clearing is possible late in the day, but a stray shower may linger into the evening.
• High: 66–68°F | Low: 51°F | Wind: SE → SW 8–11 mph, shifting W late
• Chance of rain: 80% daytime, 50% evening
Sunday, June 1 — Breezy, Bright, and Much Drier:
High pressure builds in behind the departing system, delivering a fresh air mass. Skies turn mostly sunny with a west breeze gusting at times, especially inland. Humidity drops and visibility improves. Overnight remains clear and cool, especially outside urban centers.
• High: 66–68°F | Low: 49°F | Wind: W 10–13 mph, relaxing after sunset
• A classic late-spring day—great for parks, trails, or coastal walks
Monday, June 2 — Sunny and Comfortable:
Another quiet day with sunshine dominating and temperatures near seasonal averages. Winds stay light and humidity remains low. Expect highs around 70°F, with mostly clear skies continuing overnight and lows in the lower 50s.
• High: 69–71°F | Low: 52°F | Wind: W 6–10 mph, becoming light late
Tuesday, June 3 — Warming Trend Begins Under Sunshine:
The warmup kicks in with more sun and temperatures climbing into the mid-70s. Humidity stays comfortable, and skies remain mostly clear. Overnight brings mild conditions with a few passing clouds and lows in the mid-50s.
• High: 74–76°F | Low: 55–57°F | Wind: NW → W 3–7 mph
Wednesday, June 4 — Summer Preview with Dry Heat:
A ridge of high pressure builds in overhead, leading to mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures. Highs in the low 80s feel more like early summer, especially inland. Humidity increases slightly but remains tolerable. A warm and mostly clear night follows.
• High: 80–82°F | Low: 58°F | Wind: W 5–8 mph
Thursday, June 5 — Warm and Humid, Isolated Storm Possible:
Partly to mostly sunny and warm, with a bit more humidity. A weak disturbance could spark a late-day shower or thunderstorm, particularly inland or near the Worcester Hills. Otherwise, the day stays dry and summery. Overnight remains mild with partly cloudy skies.
• High: 78–80°F | Low: 57°F | Wind: WSW 6–9 mph
• Isolated thunderstorm possible after 4 p.m.
Friday, June 6 — Typical Early June Warmth with PM Storm Risk:
Summerlike warmth continues. Partly sunny skies and highs in the low 80s make it feel like the season has truly arrived. With more humidity and heating, a few pop-up afternoon storms are possible across the region. The evening is warm and partly cloudy.
