Who’s ready for another rainy weekend? Eastern Massachusetts heads into mid-June with a few ups and downs still in store. Friday brings pleasant weather, but the weekend trend turns wet yet again with clouds, cool air, and the return of scattered rain. Saturday looks particularly unsettled and unseasonably chilly. Sunday offers a small improvement, but remains damp and gray. The pattern resets Monday with sunshine and a slow warming trend. By mid-to-late next week, summer heat may finally stage a comeback, with highs climbing into the 80s and more typical June humidity. I still don’t see any prolonged heat or humidity in our future—possibly not until July.
Friday, June 13 — Seasonably Warm and Mostly Dry:
A bright start to the weekend as high pressure lingers overhead. Expect mostly sunny skies, moderate humidity, and temperatures seasonable for mid-June. Winds remain light and variable, with some coastal areas running cooler under a sea breeze. Clouds increase late as a weak disturbance approaches.
• High: 76–78°F | Low: 57°F | Wind: N → SE 5–7 mph
• A good day for outdoor plans—mild and dry
Saturday, June 14 — Cloudy, Damp, and Unseasonably Cool:
A stalled front and weak upper-level energy bring widespread cloud cover and periods of showers throughout the day. While a complete washout is unlikely, expect several rounds of light to moderate rain. Temperatures may struggle to escape the 60s, especially with onshore breezes. Saturday is poised to mark the thirteenth consecutive Saturday with measurable rainfall across eastern Massachusetts—setting a new record.

Sunday, June 15 — Gray and Cool, but Slightly Drier:
Still stuck under the marine layer with a northeast breeze, but rain chances trend lower. A few morning showers are possible, then just a lot of lingering clouds. Temperatures remain well below normal.

• Chance of rain: 40% (mostly early in the day)
• May dry out enough for outdoor activities in the afternoon
Monday, June 16 — Mostly Sunny and Milder:
High pressure builds back in, clearing out the clouds and nudging temperatures higher. Expect pleasant conditions with light easterly winds. A refreshing start to the workweek.

Tuesday, June 17 — Partly Sunny, Isolated Showers Possible:
Sunshine gives way to increasing clouds ahead of another approaching system. Slightly warmer and more humid. A few scattered showers or a thunderstorm could pop up late.
• High: 73–75°F | Low: 58°F | Wind: SE 5–8 mph

Wednesday, June 18 — Warm and More Humid with Pop-Up Storm Risk:
A warmer and more summerlike day with highs approaching the low 80s. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with a few afternoon showers or thunderstorms possible. The humidity begins to creep up.
