Family ACCESS is delighted to share that we have received a generous grant from the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club (WHJWC)! This vital funding will greatly impact our Early Literacy Services, directly benefiting families with children aged 0-5 and preparing them for kindergarten and lasting educational success.

This grant will support our popular parent-child groups, including “Getting Ready for Kindergarten,” “Interactive Storytime,” “STEAM,” and “Learn and Play.” These engaging sessions are designed to foster regular reading habits and equip young children, especially those not yet attending preschool, with essential skills for academic achievement. Our programs, led by experienced early childhood facilitators, emphasize routines, academic preparation, and social-emotional skills. We also offer virtual parenting groups to develop parenting confidence and extend learning into the home.

The WHJWC’s commitment extends even further: they generously donated 25 copies of two different Portuguese English children’s books (a total of 50 books!) specifically for our teen and young parents. This thoughtful contribution ensures our multilingual families have access to culturally relevant literacy resources.

We are incredibly grateful for the WHJWC’s continued partnership, which spans over 20 years. Their support enables us to expand our reach within Wellesley, including dedicated efforts in the Barton Road community through initiatives like Story Walks and Fine Motor Fun workshops.
