About the scaffolding

If you’re wondering about the scaffolding on the stretch of Washington Street that includes Cafe Mangal, Mai Thai Spa, and other businesses, here’s the deal. According to a memo from East West Enterprises, the property manager, work is being done on the front of the building, including replacement of aluminum siding and building trim. Businesses will remain open during the work, which is expected to last through September.

Movement on FP Movement

As we reported this past spring, activewear retailer FP Movement is headed to Linden Square. We noticed work this week in the space, near Blue Mercury, and that a sign has been installed.

Kids can learn the basics about architecture in hands-on workshops

SPONSORED CONTENT: Junior Design Academy out of Sherborn is launching interactive, hands-on workshops designed to help students aged 9 – 12 to learn basic principles of architectural and spatial representation (scale, plans, elevations, sections, perspectives, structure); design processes (ideation, iteration, sketching, model making); the history of design, and more.

The class is taught by Melany Park, who received her PhD in Architecture from Harvard University where she was a Doctoral Teaching Fellow and a Guest Design Critic.

Classes begin fall 2025.
