On Friday, August 1, 2025 at 3:12 PM the Wellesley Police Department Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call for a single car crash on Forest St., between Abbott Rd. and Berkshire Rd. Emergency personnel were immediately dispatched to the area.
Officers first on scene reported a vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree head on. A single occupant was found in the car, a male driver, who was trapped in the vehicle and in traumatic arrest. Emergency personnel worked to extricate the male from the car.
Once the driver was removed from the vehicle, Coastal Paramedics and Wellesley Fire Fighters performed life-saving measures. The victim was transported by Coastal ambulance to the Wellesley High School athletic fields, where Boston Med Flight had landed for a medical intercept. The patient was subsequently transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Forest St. remained closed for several hours after the crash to allow for the Wellesley Police Crash Reconstruction Unit and Detectives to further investigate the crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and leave the roadway, ultimately colliding with a tree located on the east side of Forest Street.
The crash remains under investigation, and until the proper notifications can be made the name and age of the vehicle occupant is being withheld.
