Wellesley’s Tara Mounsey selected for U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame

Tara Mounsey, a two-time Olympic medal winning hockey player, today has been selected for enshrinement in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in Minnesota.

Mounsey played high school hockey in Concord, NH., and later competed in both ice and field hockey at Brown University. She played defense for the gold medal winning women’s ice hockey team in Nagano at the 1998 Olympics and earned a silver medal at the 2002 games in Salt Lake City.

Mounsey (now in the medical field) and her family have been in Wellesley for the past several years.

She is joined in US Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2025 by Bruce Bennett, Scott Gomez, Zach Parise, and Joe Pavelski, according to USA Hockey.

The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10 in Saint Paul, Minn.
