In honor of Breast Cancer Awarness Month businesses in Wellesley Square, Linden Square, and throughout the town are helping raise awareness by raising money for the Ellie Fund and their mission to provide essential support services for breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing the focus to be on family, recovery and healing.
By joining the community in supporting the Ellie Fund, you are taking an active role in alleviating the physical, financial and emotional side effects of breast cancer treatment, and partnering in a patient’s journey towards recovery and healing.
Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimer’s
DATE: Sunday, Oct. 26
LOCATION: North Point Park in Cambridge
GOOD TO KNOW: Walkers can expect a lively opening program, lots of fun, and a choice to walk the 1- or 3-mile routes along the Charles River.
NEED TO KNOW: Over seven million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s, including more than 135,200 here in Massachusetts. While there is currently no cure for this devastating disease, there are two Food and Drug Administration-approved treatments to slow the progression of cognitive decline in patients in the early stage of Alzheimer’s. Additionally, a new blood test for Alzheimer’s was approved this summer, making diagnosis and treatment more accessible, less invasive, and less expensive.
