The Wellesley School Committee is set to vote Dec. 9 on the 2026-2027 Wellesley Public Schools academic calendar, and if approved, classes won’t start until September for the first time since 2021.
In recent years, the school year has begun in late August for students. Under the draft calendar shared by Supt. David Lussier last month, professional staff will still start at the end of August, but students won’t have classes until Sept. 2 (see Wellesley Media recording of Nov. 18 meeting, about 2 hours, 13 minutes in, for more).
Wellesley High School graduation is slated for Friday, June 4, 2027, and the last day of school for students, assuming zero contingency days, is Monday, June 21, 2027.

Swellesley welcomes letters to the editor on Wellesley topics.
