Checking out the “We are Wellesley: Beyond White Picket Fences” portraits
The
“We Are Wellesley: Beyond White Picket Fences” photo exhibit is making the rounds through town and is currently at the Barton Road Community Center, available for viewing when the center is open. A reception and talk were held at the center earlier this week.
The exhibit highlights your fellow Wellesley residents, both those whose families have been here for generations and those newer to the community.
The portraits capture those active in town government and schools, business and medical professionals, those active in the arts, and more.
I swung by the Community Center to check out the portraits, which are beautifully done by Wellesley High School photography students and teacher Doug Johnson.
While at the exhibit I ran into Catherine Simpson Bueker, whose Beyond White Picket Fences: Evolution of an American Town inspired this photo exhibit. She’ll be presenting a talk on Jan. 21 at 6:30pm at Wellesley Free Library, where the portraits will next be displayed.
