Rotary’s ‘Taste of Wellesley’: Chowing down, chatting & dancing for a great cause

The Rotary Club of Wellesley‘s annual Taste of Wellesley earlier this month brought together more than a dozen Wellesley restaurants and hundreds of guests to indulge in the best food around and raise tens of thousands of dollars to fight food insecurity in the community. Fundraising took place through ticket sales, a silent auction, and generous sponsors.

The sold-out event was held at the warm and windy Wellesley Country Club, where attendees sampled everything from sushi to gazpacho and from tuna tartare to quiche. black & blue Steak and Crab, Captain Marden’s, Karma, and Juniper were among the restaurants on hand.

While people did eat their main meals and appetizers, they also treated themselves to lots and lots of dessert—pastries, tiramisu, and ice cream, courtesy of Le Petit Four, Alta Strada, and Truly’s.

Some worked off their meals by roaming around the patio and under the tent, while others stepped it up on the dance floor. The Newe Sound Assembly Barbershop Chorus and Mike Fritz Quartet supplied the tunes.

Oath Pizza’s Bill Ebben and WBZ-TV news anchor Paula Ebben served as emcees.
