Community Meeting on Wellesley Fire Department master plan is June 25th
An announcement from the Town of Wellesley:
Residents are encouraged to attend a community meeting on Thursday, June 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to give input on the recently completed Wellesley Fire Department (WFD) Master Plan.
The meeting will be held in-person in the Great Hall at Wellesley Town Hall (525 Washington Street).

The plan integrates current needs, anticipated growth, and evolving community demographics that will help the Town shape this project. Among other things, the plan identifies:
- Existing facility needs and deficiencies
- Alternative site evaluations
- Recommended path forward, including the North 40 site recommendation
- Next steps regarding site selection and feasibility
All attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and share comments.
The Select Board will review all feedback and consider the Master Plan recommendations to determine a path forward in September 2026.
Any future feasibility and design work on this project would require Town Meeting authorization.
The Fire Department is facing current challenges with aging and undersized facilities. Fire Station 1 at 104 Central Street is almost 100 years old, and Fire Station 2 at 457 Worcester Street is almost 40 years old.
While both fire stations have been well-maintained, they’re significantly undersized and no longer meet current standards and the functional requirements of the Fire Department. Learn more this project on the WFD Master Plan webpages.
