To the editor:

On behalf of the West Suburban YMCA, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club for awarding us a generous grant to support financial assistance for YMCA programs benefiting Wellesley residents.

The West Suburban YMCA is committed to strengthening the foundations of our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for all. This gift helps ensure that individuals and families in Wellesley have access to our programs — regardless of financial means. From early childhood education and afterschool care to swim lessons, youth sports, summer camps, senior fitness, and cancer survivor support, the Y is uniquely positioned to serve people of all ages and backgrounds.

Currently, 377 of our members reside in Wellesley, and hundreds more participate in our programs each year. In 2024, we distributed nearly $600,000 in financial aid, and we are on track to surpass that in 2025. This grant from WHJWC helps us continue that impact, ensuring more Wellesley neighbors can access the programs and services that build confidence, foster connection, and promote well-being.

We also want to highlight our two convenient, full-service locations—one in Newton Corner just off the Mass Pike, and another right off Route 128 at the Kendrick Street exit—making it easy for families across the region to participate. In addition, we offer a day camp in Wayland and an overnight camp in East Brookfield, MA, providing enriching experiences that support youth development and outdoor exploration.

We are incredibly grateful to the WHJWC for their continued commitment to strengthening our shared community. Together, we are helping individuals thrive and making a lasting difference.
