Wellesley emergency crews were on the scene at Linden Street and Weston Road on Thursday morning to keep traffic and people away from a natural gas leak. The issue was resolved within a few hours.
According to Wellesley Police, “One of National Grid’s subcontractors that was doing work on the old gas line appears to have struck the gas main while excavating to install a new gas line.”
According to Wellesley Firefighters Local 1775, “All the homes in the immediate area were checked and ventilated.”
We reached out to National Grid, which was on the scene, for more details on what happened.
