The first weekend of performances was a resounding success that left audiences stunned by its professional production value and performances. You have three chances left to see this historic production—Thursday July 30th, Friday July 31st, and Saturday, August 1st, all shows at 7:30pm, at the Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College (219 Babson College Drive,Wellesley, MA 02481).

Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students and seniors when purchased in advance at www.wellesleytheatreproject.org, or $35 for adults and $20 for students and seniors at the door.

This exciting production had 91 people audition and has a cast of 31. Familiar faces include WTP’s Artistic Director, Ben Rush, WTP alumni, local community members, and other talented performers.

Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music has won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision.
