Wellesley Chinese American Network (WECAN) hosting end-of-summer picnic this Saturday

August 28, 2026 by admin

wecan logoOn Saturday, Aug. 29 (10:30am-4pm), the Wellesley Chinese American Network (WECAN) will host an End-of-Summer Neighborhood Family Social Picnic at the Morses Pond beach in Wellesley (99 Turner Rd).

The free event will bring together Chinese American families, friends, and neighbors for a day of food, games, outdoor activities, and community connection. See registration/waiver application online.

WECAN is a local community organization that works to connect and support Chinese American families in Wellesley while building stronger relationships with the broader community.

One of the highlights of the picnic will be a community potluck and food competition. Families are encouraged to bring a favorite dish to share—Chinese food, Western food, homemade specialties, family recipes, appetizers, desserts, or anything they enjoy making. WECAN will also provide ingredients for a community barbecue.

The day will also include volleyball, group games for adults and children, and prizes for food and sports activities. All activities are free, and families who are unable to bring food are equally welcome.
