The Wellesley, Mass., police log for the period of July 28-Aug. 5, 2022:

Arrests

On July 28, 2022 at 7:45 a.m. Officer Cunningham took a male party into custody for a section 35 order that had been issued by the Dedham District Court. The male party was transported from the Essex County Sheriff’s Office and transported to Dedham District Court.

On July 29, 2022 at 5:33 p.m. Officer DeBernardi responded to a motor vehicle crash just west of Worcester Street at Overbrook Road. The Natick Police also responded to assist. A red Toyota pickup truck that had been involved in the crash left the scene and turned onto Byron Road in Natick. Officer DeBernardi spoke with the male operator of the Toyota pickup truck, and immediately detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Officer DeBernardi also noticed that the operator’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy. He appeared to be unsteady on his feet and as he spoke his speech was slurred and he indicated he had consumed some alcohol earlier in the day. The driver agreed to take some reasonable tests of balance and coordination to determine if he could safely operate a motor vehicle. He was unable to successfully pass these tests. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.

On July 30, 2022 at 5:12 p.m. Officer Scopa was conducting traffic enforcement on Worcester Street when he observed a vehicle that had smoke billowing from the exhaust. A query of the registration showed that the registration plates attached to the gray Subaru belonged to Chevrolet Caprice. Officer Scopa stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator, and requested his driver’s license. A query of his license showed an active warrant issued by Wrentham District Court for motor vehicle offenses. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all right and was later released on personal recognizance.

Incidents

On July 25, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. an officer spoke with a female reporting party from William Street who stated she lost a pair of diamond earrings valued at $17,500. She last saw them on July 17th and has not been able to find them since. She does not believe they were stolen but stated only she and her husband had been in her residence during the time period they went missing.

On July 26, 2022 at 7:20 a.m. an officer was dispatched to a coffee shop on Washington Street for a report of a male party causing a disturbance. A male party approached the officer and asked if he could be taken to the hospital because he seeing and hearing things that were not there. He was transported to the hospital by the paramedics.

On July 26, 2022 at 10:10 a.m. an officer spoke with a female reporting party regarding check fraud. She stated she had written a check on February 20, 2022 in the amount of $361.00 and it had been cashed in the amount of $8,690.17 to a different payee. There are no suspects at this time.

On July 26, 2022 at 11:36 a.m. an officer spoke with a female party regarding a fraudulent charge on her credit card. She stated that a charge of $595.00 for a table was on her credit card and she did not order a table or receive a table. She provided the officer with the shipment tracking number. The officer went to the post office and was advised the package was delivered to the reporting party’s address on May 25, 2022.

On July 26, 2022 at 10:59 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Oakland Street and MassBay Community College for a report of a dispute between the driver and another passenger in the vehicle she was in. The officers spoke with the reporting party and the driver who both stated that the male passenger was upset that the driver would not drive him to Marlborough and struck the driver and fled from the vehicle when the reporting party called 911. The male passenger took the driver’s cell phone with him when he fled from the car. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the male party. He will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for Assault and Battery and Larceny Under $1,200.

On July 28, 2022 at 11:10 an officer spoke to a reporting party regarding a cellular phone that was purchased using their personal information. The reporting party received a phone call from SmartPay Leasing regarding an iPhone 12 Pro that was purchased. The reporting party advised SmartPay she did not purchase the phone and they requested that she file a police report and to contact Orion Capital Solutions to file a fraud claim. The reporting party has also notified the credit reporting bureaus and placed a credit freeze on her accounts.

On July 27, 2022 at 4:05 p.m. an officer spoke with a female party who stated that sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. her Lululemon fanny pack was taken from a shelf at a summer camp program. She stated an email was forwarded to the parents of the children in the camp class but
nobody had come forward yet to indicate they had taken the fanny pack. On July 28 th the officer went to the summer camp program to speak with an employee at which time he was informed the reporting party had advised him that the fanny pack had been returned to her and adult had mistakenly taken it when picking up their own personal belongings.

On July 29, 2022 at 1:22 p.m. officers responded with Animal Control Officer Smith to a parking lot on Worcester Street for a dog that had been in a vehicle for several hours. The temperature was in the 90’s on July 29th and even with the windows rolled down the interior temperature of the vehicle was 115 degrees. The officers located the dog owner inside of a business. He thought the dog would be okay in the vehicle with the windows rolled down while he was working. He was provided with some educational material on how quickly the interior of vehicles can heat up and how that can be harmful to pets.

On July 29, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. an officer spoke with a resident about items that went missing from her residence while she was traveling overseas. The reporting party indicated that a Chanel bag was taken, a large amount of jewelry was taken from a safe and an antique silver tea set. There had been forced entry into her bedroom. The officer spoke with a family member of the victim who stated it was likely another family member may be responsible and that this other family member had been taking advantage of the victim. On July 30th the officer spoke with the reporting party who indicated she no longer wished to have the missing items investigated.

On August 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. an officer was dispatched to the Hardy Elementary School for a report of vandalism. There were some letters/number characters that were not legible and did not appear to spell anything in particular on rear wall of the building. The reporting party stated that the images were not there on July 28th . There are no suspects.

On August 1, 2022 at 5:43 p.m. an officer spoke with a female reporting party regarding a missing hard drive. The reporting party stated she purchased a new computer in May and had the hard drive removed from the old computer at that time. She stated she had been storing it in a drawer in her kitchen until she could destroy it so her personal information could not be retrieved from it. She believes that last time she saw it in the drawer was sometime between July 23 rd and July 29th . She stated she had placed a freeze on her credit as a precaution.

On August 2, 2022 at 5:13 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Whole Foods parking lot for a dispute between two male parties. The two male parties got into an argument after one party was attempting to back his vehicle out of a space and the other party drove around him. The individual that was backing out of the space then parked near the other vehicle, approached the vehicle and began yelling at the driver. He was advised that while he may have been upset the other driver didn’t let him back out he should not have approached him and he indicated he understood.

On August 4, 2022 at 6:45 p.m. an officer spoke to a female reporting party regarding check fraud. The reporting party stated that a check and been stolen from the mail, altered and cashed. The original check was in the amount of $230 and had been changed to $4,225. She further stated that on July 27th she noticed a debit from her checking account in the amount of $2,710.16. The recipient of the funds was General Holding, which is a collection agency. She contacted them and they stated it was likely payment for an apartment rental but they could not provide any additional information. The incident is under investigation.

On August 5, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. an officer responded to a call for a confused elderly male party who was speaking with employees of a store in the Wellesley Hills area. Officers spoke with the male party and determined that he suffers from memory issues and resides in Westwood. They were able to contact a family member and then drove the male party home.

Arrests

On November 24, 2021 at 11:43 a.m. Officer DiCenso was on Weston Road near Central Street when she observed a white Honda CRV appear to have a collision with another motor vehicle, back up and then attempt to leave the scene.   Officer DiCenso attempted to stop the vehicle 3 times and it attempted to evade being stopped by stopping and then starting again, turning onto Linden Street and stopping and then starting again, turning into a residential parking area and attempting to turn around.  Officer DiCenso noticed the driver side air bag had deployed.  Officer DiCenso spoke with the male operator, and requested his license and registration.  The operator provided his license and the vehicle inspection report, he then provided an expired vehicle registration.  She noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, his speech was slurred and she could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person.  He denied consuming any alcohol. There was an open bottle of beer in the vehicle. He was aware he had been involved in an accident and denied trying to leave the scene of the accident. He was unable to successfully pass reasonable tests to determine if he was able to safely operate a motor vehicle. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and released on personal recognizance.

On November 29, 2021 at 6:42 p.m. Officer Gaffney was on patrol on Worcester Street when he observed a Honda Accord with an expired registration. He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator, and requested her license and registration. A query of her information revealed there was an active Straight Warrant issued by Framingham District Court. She was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.

Incidents

On November 22, 2021 at 6:56 a.m. an officer was dispatched to the area of the Bacon Street bridge for a report of new graffiti on the bridge.  There were several items of graffiti that appeared to be new.  The MBTA was contacted to request the graffiti be removed. 

On November 22, 2021 at 12:46 p.m. an officer spoke with a resident on Carver Road about a past breaking and entering into two unlocked motor vehicles.  The reporting party stated both vehicles had been entered and a wallet was missing from one vehicle.  The wallet contained personal documents and credit cards.  One of the credit cards had been used at a gas station in Ashland, MA.  The incident is under investigation.

On November 22, 2021 at 12:55 p.m. an officer spoke with a female reporting party from Wareland Road who stated her unlocked vehicle was entered overnight and her wallet was taken.  The wallet contained approximately $200 in cash, personal documents and credit cards.  The incident is under investigation.

On November 22, 2021 at 3:38 p.m. an officer spoke to a female reporting party regarding a past breaking and entering into three unlocked motor vehicles.  The reporting party stated the contents of the vehicles had been gone through and approximately $10 in change had been taken from one vehicle.  The incident is under investigation.

On November 23, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. an officer spoke to a female party about a lost purse.  She stated she was running late for the train and walked down Weston Road and Central Street to get to the train station.  She stated when she arrived at the train station she realized her backpack was open and some of her personal belongings had fallen out.  She retraced her steps but was unable to find her purse.  The officer also checked the route she indicated she had walked and was unable to locate the missing purse.

On November 26, 2021 at 12:20 p.m. an officer spoke with a male reporting party who stated that he had been communicating with a female party over the summer and eventually they stopped talking with each other.  He stated in September he started receiving several phone calls and text messages from the female party and an unknown male party.  Some of the messages were threatening in nature.  He stated he stopped responding to the messages and then started receiving messages through his social media account.  He stated he just wished for the text messages to stop.  The officer spoke with the female party on the phone and advised her to stop contacting the reporting party and if there were continued communications she could be charged criminally for harassment.  She stated she understood and no further contact would be made. 

On November 28, 2021 at 10:14 a.m. an officer spoke to a male reporting party regarding fraud.  He stated he thought he had contacted Apple online for computer repairs and had provided his credit card information and part of his social security number to the fraudulent online site.  There were 3 attempts to charge $500 to his credit card that were unsuccessful.  He was advised to contact the credit reporting bureau to make them aware of the fraud.

On November 29, 2021 at 4:20 a.m. an officer was dispatched to a residence on Bobolink Road for a report of a suspicious male party that was on the property of the reporting party and then ran from the area.  The reporting party stated his security camera system notified him that there was motion near his side door.  He opened his door and called out into the back yard and then observed what appeared to be a male party in a red hooded sweatshirt running along Bobolink Road towards Cedar Street.  Officers checked the area and were unable to find anyone matching that description.

On November 30, 2021 at 12:43 p.m. an officer was dispatched to Windsor Road for a report of a stolen motor vehicle.  The reporting party had parked her AudiQ7 in the driveway of a client and left the keys and her wallet in the vehicle.  She stated sometime between 11:00 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. the vehicle was taken from the driveway.  On December 1, 2021 the officer learned that an Audi employee was supposed to pick up an Audi from the residence next door and inadvertently took the reporting party’s vehicle.

On December 1, 2021 at 12:15 p.m. an officer spoke with an elderly female reporting party who stated her debit card was utilized to withdraw money from her account without her authorization and a purchase she did not authorize was made.  The reporting party stated she had contacted the bank about the fraud.  The officer followed up with the bank and learned that the withdrawal and purchase did not occur and that the reporting party has made several claims to the bank that funds have been withdrawn that have not been.  

On December 3, 2021 at 3:25 a.m. while conducting security checks of the Sprague Field an officer noticed new graffiti on the Facilities Maintenance Department maintenance shop building.  The officer notified the Facilities Director of the vandalism so it could be removed.  

On December 3, 2021 at 6:45 p.m. an officer spoke to a female reporting party who indicated she was the victim of a computer scam.  The reporting party stated on December 2nd she was on her computer when a message popped up stating she should call Microsoft because her URL had been compromised.  She contacted the number that appeared on the message and was advised that anything on her computer had been breached to include her telephone and Wi-Fi and that she needed to provide her debit card information so they could secure her bank account.  She did not provide that information.  The caller then instructed her to purchase vouchers to make her bank account whole again.  She purchased $3,500 in gift cards to Target and Apple and provided the card information to the caller.  After speaking with them she became suspicious and contacted her bank and learned her account had not been compromised.  They cancelled her debit card an issued a new card.  She was advised to bring the computer to a computer specialist, to place a fraud alert of her information and block the phone number the scammers used to contact her.

On December 3, 2021 at 5:18 p.m. an officer spoke with a female reporting party from a business on Linden Street who stated a food delivery driver became upset when she asked him to wait outside until his order was ready.  The male party began to yell at her and then knocked 3 takeout orders valued at approximately $300 off of a table striking the reporting party.  The reporting party provided a description of the male party and his vehicle.  The incident is under investigation. 

On December 7, 2021 at 11:13 a.m. an officer spoke to a male reporting party who wished to report that his front license plate was either lost or stolen.  The reporting party was not sure when the license plate was lost or stolen.  The plate number was entered into NCIC as lost/stolen, which will allow the reporting party to request a replacement plate with the registry of motor vehicles.

On December 7, 2021 at 1:45 p.m. an officer spoke with a male reporting party regarding a lost or stolen trailer license plate.  The reporting party stated his boat trailer is stored in East Boston and he noticed on December 7th that the license plate was missing from the trailer.  He is unsure when the license plate was lost or stolen.  The plate was entered into NCIC as lost/stolen, which will allow the reporting party to request a replace plate with the registry of motor vehicles.

On December 8, 2021 in the early morning hours, three home burglaries occurred on Garden Road, Sawyer Road, and Hawthorne Road.  The three homes were all occupied by residents when the burglaries occurred.  Items were stolen from the homes.    Entry was made via unlocked doors and windows on the first floor.  There was an attempted break-in at a fourth home, but the first floor doors and windows were all locked, and no entry was gained.  Wellesley Police Officers and Detectives are investigating these cases.  Less than a month ago, similar burglaries to occupied homes occurred during the overnight hours in the Edgewater Drive neighborhood.  Entry was made via unlocked doors in those cases as well. 

On December 9, 2021 at 9:20 a.m. an officer spoke to a male reporting party regarding a package that was stolen.  He stated a package contained two Samsung Galaxy phones was delivered by FedEx on December 6th and he never received them.  The tracking slip indicated the reporting party signed for the phones on December 6th at 10:18 a.m.  The reporting party stated nobody was home at the residence at that time.  He stated he contacted Samsung and they requested a police report to replace the phones.  

On December 11, 2021 at 5:40 a.m. an officer was on patrol when he heard a loud crashing sound from the area of Worcester Street in front of the Wellesley Fire Station.  He then observed the sign for the Gulf Gas Station had been knocked over and a vehicle with significant damage near the gas pumps.  It appeared the vehicle had rolled over and had significant damage to the roof.  There was one male occupant in the vehicle that was extricated by the Wellesley Fire Department and transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.  The Wellesley Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash. 

The Wellesley Police Department would like to remind residents during the Holidays, to take common sense precautions to keep your home, vehicle, and family safe. Please lock all of the doors to your home, especially if you are traveling.  Setting your home alarms and calling the police department to report suspicious activity is also important.   

Locking car doors, both your own and your visiting guests, will prevent most theft.  The department continues to see cars being broken into in Wellesley and stolen from surrounding towns.  Many of these car burglaries and car thefts are as a result of the car being unlocked with the keys left inside.

Wellesley MA police logs for the weeks of Sept. 27-Oct. 17:

Arrests

On September 30, 2021 at 7:17 p.m. officers were dispatched to a residence on Wachusett Road for a report of a female party who had taken a package that had been delivered there.  The reporting party stated the female party stated it was her package, it had been delivered to an incorrect address and she was staying up the street.  The reporting party stated that the suspect got into the passenger seat of a red Honda Accord.  Officers responding to the call observed a red Honda sedan traveling on Cliff Road and stopped the vehicle.  A male party was operating the vehicle and the female party was the passenger.  There were three new Apple iPhone 13 Pro cell phones located under the passenger seat in the vehicle.  The packaging was addressed to three different people at three different addresses.  None of the names or addresses were those of the vehicle occupants.  They were taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.

On October 16, 2021 at 7:39 p.m. Officer Scopa was dispatched to the area of Washington Street for a report of an erratic operator.   He observed the Honda sedan at the intersection of Washington Street at Worcester Street and noticed that the vehicle had stopped beyond the stop line for the red light and was continuing to roll forward into the intersection.   Officer Scopa stopped the vehicle on Washington Street at Maugus Ave and spoke with the operator.  He immediately noticed that the driver’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot and his eyelids appeared heavy.  He had difficulty locating his license and when asked where he was going he indicated around the corner to Marion Street in Woburn.  The driver agreed to take some reasonable tests of balance and coordination to determine if he was able to safely operate a motor vehicle.  He was unable to successfully pass these tests.  He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.

On October 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Officer DiCenso was on patrol and observed an Acura sedan and conducted query of the vehicle’s registration.  The query showed there was an active warrant issued by Milford District Court for motor vehicle related offenses for the owner of the vehicle.  Officer DiCenso stopped the vehicle and made contact with the operator and ownerr.  He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.

Incidents

On September 27, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Officer Pino spoke to a female party who stated she was the victim of an apartment rental scam.  The female party had seen a Craigslist advertisement for an apartment in Framingham and contacted the individual that had listed the apartment.  Over a period of two weeks, she sent that individual $2,000 for the apartment and the individual stated six months rent was needed to secure the apartment.  The reporting party suspected she was being scammed and told the individual she was contacting the police.  Over the two-week period the male party had sent her a screen shot of a MA ID with the name James on it.   Officer Pino found that James resided in Quincy.  He contacted James who stated his identity had been stolen and someone had attempted to rent a vehicle under his name in Virginia.  The $2,000 had been sent as five separate transactions to a Zelle account under the name of Tsyeba.  Officer Pino was able to locate a Tsyeba in Virginia.  She stated she had met a male party through an online dating app and he said he was an investor.  She has been receiving payments from people on his behalf.  She confirmed she had received $2,000 from the reporting party and agreed to return the funds.   The incident is under investigation.

On September 27, 2021 at 10:10 p.m. an officer spoke with a male party who had received a threat through social media.  The reporting party relayed that he had a conversation with one of his contacts on his Instagram account around 9:20 p.m.   He stated the individual sent him a nude photo of herself and asked him to send a nude photo of himself.  Immediately after sending the photo the contact demanded $1,000 be sent via Zelle or Cash App and indicated if the money

On August 12, 2021 at 11:35 a.m. officers served a section 35 warrant for a resident that had been issued on August 10th . A family member of the resident had petitioned the court for the warrant because they were concerned about their alcohol and drug use. The male party was located at their residence and was transported to Dedham District Court.

On August 9, 2021 at 6:07 p.m. Officer Misho spoke with a female party who stated she was the victim of a scam. She stated on August 7th she was communicating with another social media member on FaceBook Messenger who claimed to be selling 2 tickets to the Zac Brown Band concert. The reporting party stated she agreed to pay the unknown female party $300.00 for the tickets. She stated after sending the unknown party $300.00 by Zelle she was advised the funds were not received. She provided the transaction confirmation to the party after which the individual stopped responding to messages. She reported the fraudulent transaction to the FaceBook group administrator and to her bank. The bank requested a police report be filed to investigate the matter. The female party provided Officer Misho with the Zelle user name for the transaction. He is investigating the matter.

On August 9, 2021 at 6:35 p.m. Officer Fritts spoke with a male party who was the victim of fraud. The male party stated at 1:40 p.m. that afternoon he received a phone call from an unknown individual who identified himself as working for the social security administration. The caller advised the reporting party that there was a warrant issued for his arrest and that someone had opened several credit cards using his name with charges totaling $184,000. The caller further stated that he was listed as a property owner of a home and vehicle in Texas and there were drugs found at the home and he was going to be charged with drug trafficking. The caller advised the reporting party that he could either report the issued to the U.S. Treasury Department and they would freeze all of his assets until the situation could be resolved or he could send money to the social security administration today. The caller instructed the reporting party to bring $15,000 to a bitcoin ATM in Framingham. The male party followed these instructions and was then told he needed to send more money at which point he became suspicious. Officer Fritts is investigating the incident.

On August 10, 2021 at 10:55 a.m. Officer Mankavech spoke with a male reporting party who works for the Town of Wellesley Facilities and Maintenance Department. The male party stated that the Sprague School Field storage facility had been vandalized with spray paint. There are no suspects at this time. The Facilities Maintenance Department will look into the possibility of installing security cameras in the
area to deter graffiti in the future.

On August 10, 2021 at 10:45 a.m. Officer Kane spoke with a male reporting party regarding two laptops that were stolen from an office building on Worcester Street. One of the tenants of the office building reported to security that a laptop had been stolen. The security guard began reviewing security footage and believed he identified the suspect of the thefts. Officer Kane is investigating.

On August 10, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. Officer Pino spoke with a female reporting party who stated that while her vehicle was parked at Patriot Petroleum for service the catalytic converter was stolen from the vehicle. Officer Pino spoke with an employee from Patriot Petroleum who stated the vehicle had been there for approximately two months. There are no suspects. (More on catalytic converter thefts.)

On August 10, 2021 at 8:27 p.m. Officer Harris spoke with a male and female reporting party that stated while sitting outside at the Cottage Restaurant an unknown individual threw a milkshake in their direction which struck the ground and splattered on them. They stated they observed a black Cadillac SUV on Linden Street with people inside who sounded like they were swearing and then the milkshake was thrown outside the vehicle. Officers looked for a vehicle matching the description in the area and were unable to locate one.

On August 10, 2021 at 9:07 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Morses Pond for a complaint of loud music coming from the beach. Officers found a large number of juveniles on the beach when they arrived. Many of the juveniles ran into the wooded area. Officers spoke

Wellesley Police log: Gardening complaints; too busy to move car; scammers out in force

ON July 26, 2021 at 2:00 a.m. Officer Rosenberg was on patrol on Washington Street near Wellesley Ave when he observed a Chevrolet sedan and conducted a query of the registration.  The query showed that the registration was suspended.  The vehicle was towed and the operator was issued a citation.

On July 26, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. Officer Mankavech spoke with a female party regarding a Porta-Potty that had been tipped over.  The reporting party had captured two male parties on her home security camera system.  Officer Mankavech is investigating. (More on Wellesley’s porta potty problems)

On July 26, 2021 at 11:24 a.m. Officer Kane spoke with a female reporting party who stated a family member attempted to renew their TSA known traveler information online on the website tsaprogram.ttp.us.com which was flagged by their credit card company as being a fraudulent charge.  She cancelled her credit card but was concerned the family member’s personal information was compromised.  Officer Kane advised her to monitor her credit and credit cards for any suspicious activity.

On July 26, 2021 at 3:40 p.m. Officer Pino spoke with a female reporting party regarding a bicycle that had been left unlocked at Morses Pond since June 24th that had been taken.  She stated that she noticed a photo on What’s Up Wellesley of her bicycle at Morses Pond and went to retrieve it but found it was no longer there.  There are no suspects.

On July 26, 2021 at 5:05 p.m. Officer Misho spoke with a female party who stated she received a credit card statement in the mail on July 22nd for an account she did not open.  She contacted the credit card company and advised them she had not opened the account and was advised she would not be responsible for the charges.  Officer Misho advised her to notify her existing credit card companies of the attempted fraud and provided her with a resource guide for victims of identity theft.

On July 26, 2021 at 6:20 p.m. Officer Dixon was on patrol on Worcester Street when the license plate reader in his police vehicle alerted him that the registration was revoked on a gray Mercedes that was traveling in front of him.  He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator and confirmed that the registration was revoked in June.  The operator will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked Registration and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

On July 27, 2021 at 12:14 p.m. Officer Kane spoke with a male party regarding Porta-Potties that were knocked over at some point over the weekend.  He stated he contacted the company he rented them from on July 26th to put them back in place and clean them and they did not show up as promised.  He contacted them again on the 27th to request that they be cleaned and uprighted.

On July 28, 2021 at 4:45 p.m. Officer Dixon spoke with a female party about her garden being vandalized.  She believed another resident in the apartment building was responsible for the vandalism.  She indicated she would be installing a security camera.

On July 28, 2021 at 5:15 p.m. Officer Dixon spoke with a male party who reported receiving harassing emails and phone calls from an unknown male party.  The male party did not wish to pursue the matter at this time but wished to documents the incidents should the unwanted emails and phone calls continue.

On July 29, 2021 at 1:41 p.m. Officer Cunningham spoke with a female employee of the Wellesley Public School system regarding a package that was stolen.  She stated the items were delivered on July 9th and were stolen.  There are no suspects.

On July 29, 2021 at 4:55 p.m. Officer Scopa spoke with a female party regarding a possible scam.  She stated she had googled the phone number for a local locksmith and left a message.  She received a call back from what she thought was the local locksmith and made an appointment for

Arrests

On December 29, 2020 at 10:35 a.m. Officer Mankavech was conducting traffic enforcement on Worcester Street when he observed a Jeep Wrangler with the male driver looking at his cellular phone while driving.  He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator, and requested his license and registration.  A query of his information showed there was an active warrant issued by the Framingham District Court for his arrest.  He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later transported to Framingham District Court.

Incidents

On December 28, 2020 at 10:34 a.m. Officer Cunningham was dispatched to the Wellesley Recycling and Disposal Facility for a dispute.  The male reporting party from Newton stated that he had come to the Wellesley RDF to dump his trash and was confronted by an employee that told him he could not dispose of his trash because he was not a resident.  The employee took his personal information and requested to see his driver’s license and then took a photograph of the license.  He stated a short time later he received a phone call and was told he could dispose of his trash if he wanted to pay a fee.  He went to the RDF office and was advised he would not be able to dispose of his trash.  He felt the office employee was rude and he requested that the photo of his driver’s license be removed from the employee’s phone.  The photo was deleted, the male party was issued a verbal no trespass order and advised a written notice would be mailed to him.

On December 28, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. Officer Pino spoke with a male reporting party who stated he believed the catalytic converter may have been stolen from his vehicle while he was at work in Wellesley.  He stated when he left work he noticed the vehicle was making a loud noise so he brought the car to a mechanic who advised him the car part had been removed.  There are no suspects.

On December 30, 2020 at 7:48 a.m. Sgt. Lemenager was on patrol when he observed a GMC pickup truck and conducted a random query of the vehicle’s registration.  The query showed that the owner’s license was suspended.  Sgt. Lemenager stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator and confirmed he was the registered owner.  He will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for Operating a Motor Vehicle After License Suspension.

On December 30, 2020 at 9:16 a.m. Officer Collins was conducting traffic enforcement on Washington Street near the Hunnewell Fields when a Toyota sedan passed his location and he conducted a random query of the vehicle’s registration.  The query showed that the vehicle’s registration was revoked due to lack of insurance.  Officer Collins stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator.  He will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked Registration and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

On December 30, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. Officer Misho spoke with a male and female reporting party regarding a family member who had left the house on December 28th after an argument and as of December 30th they have not heard from him.   On

Arrests

On September 30, 2020 at 11:48 a.m. Officer Pino observed a Toyota Corolla traveling east on Worcester Street that appeared to be speeding.  He queried the vehicle’s registration as it passed him.  The query showed that the vehicle was listed as stolen out of Boston.  Officer Pino attempted to stop the vehicle but the operator would not stop.  The vehicle slowed to approximately 35 mph prior to exiting Worcester Street onto 95 South.  Officer Pino followed the vehicle to exit 17 at which point he terminated his attempt to stop the vehicle as the operator was traveling at a high rate of speed in the break down lane.  A short time later Officer Gover overheard a radio transmission by the MA State Police that the vehicle had attempted to exit Route 95 South at Exit 15 and crashed.  The operator had fled from the vehicle.  The MA State Police and the Westwood Police Department began searching the driver.  He was located in Westwood and was identified, was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and was held on $3,000 bail.

On October 1, 2020 at 10:23 a.m. Officer Mankavech was traveling o Worcester Street near Weston Road when he observed that the vehicle’s rear brake lights were not functioning properly.  He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator,  and asked for his license and registration.  He stated he did not have his license with him and provided Officer Mankavech with his name and social security number.   A query of his information showed that his license was suspended and there was an active default warrant issued by Lowell District Court for motor vehicle related offenses.  He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later transported to Dedham District Court.

On October 4, 2020 at 10:37 p.m. Officer DeBernardi was conducting traffic enforcement on Worcester Street near Washington Street when he observed a Honda sedan pass his location.  He queried the vehicle’s registration and learned there was an active warrant issued by Newburyport District Court for the owner of the vehicle for motor vehicle related offenses.  Officer DeBernardi stopped the vehicle and identified the operator as the owner.  He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on personal recognizance.

On September 28, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Officers Gaffney and DiCenso spoke with reporting party regarding a neighbor dispute.  The male party stated that he was having landscaping work done on his property and his neighbor came onto his property yelling at him because the work was being done near a tree that is on both properties.  The female party
