Wellesley weather forecast for July 31-Aug. 8, 2025

July 30, 2025 by Matthew Moll

weather consultingHere’s the updated daily weather forecast by Meteorologist Matthew Moll of New England Weather Consulting:

Weather Outlook: July 31 to Aug 8, 2025

The end of July brings a major flip in the weather. After weeks of summer heat, clouds and a cool northeast breeze move in Thursday into Friday, and with it, the potential for a soaking rain. Some neighborhoods could pick up heavy totals, and if the rain bands line up just right, the National Weather Service may hoist flood watches for parts of southern New England Thursday night into Friday. The weekend turns gorgeous, sunny, dry, and comfortable, before warmth and humidity slowly return next week, setting up a more classic August pattern by late week.

Thursday, July 31 – Clouds increase, turning unsettled
A break from the recent heat, but it stays sticky. Expect plenty of clouds with some breaks of sun. A few showers or a stray thunderstorm could move in later, setting the stage for steadier rain Thursday night.
• High: 77–79°F | Low: 61–63°F | Wind: East 7–9 mph
• Sky: Mostly cloudy with occasional sun
• Chance of rain: 40%
• Dew point: 66–70°F

Interested in sponsoring our Wellesley weather forecasts? Learn more about advertising on Swellesley.

A dramatic change, raw, damp, and nearly 20 degrees cooler than earlier this week. A northeast wind keeps highs in the upper 60s, with waves of light to moderate rain possible through the day. There’s still uncertainty on exactly where the heaviest rain sets up, but if it focuses over the region, localized flooding is possible, and flood watches may be issued.
• High: 69–72°F | Low: 55–57°F | Wind: NE 7–10 mph
• Sky: Overcast with occasional rain, easing by evening
• Chance of rain: 50%

High pressure clears the clouds and rain. Full sunshine, lower humidity, and a perfect summer afternoon. A cool morning makes it a great day for a walk or farmer’s market stop.

Wellesley MA weather forecast for July 24-Aug. 1, 2025

July 24, 2025 by Matthew Moll

weather consultingHere’s the updated daily weather forecast by Meteorologist Matthew Moll of New England Weather Consulting:

Weather Outlook: July 24 to Aug 1, 2025

A significant warmup peaks Friday with heat and humidity combining for oppressive conditions—possibly the last true high heat of the season. A cold front arrives late Friday, bringing storm chances and a modest cooldown for the weekend. Saturday and Sunday are seasonable, though humidity lingers and scattered showers may return late Sunday. Early next week offers a brief stretch of pleasant weather, but another warm and muggy surge arrives midweek with renewed storm chances. Long-range signals suggest the start of August could trend cooler than normal, perhaps our first real hint that summer is slowly beginning to wind down.

Thursday, July 24 – Hot and sunny
Summer heat builds under strong sunshine and a southwest breeze. Highs reach near 90°F, with rising dew points adding a touch of stickiness by late afternoon. A classic July day, but the breeze helps keep it bearable.
• High: 88 to 90°F | Low: 70 to 72°F | Wind: SW at 9 to 11 mph
• Sky: Mostly sunny throughout the day
• Chance of rain: 0%
• Dew point: 68 to 72°F

Friday, July 25 – Oppressive heat, storms late
One of the hottest days of the summer so far. Expect highs in the mid to upper 90s, with heat index values pushing 100°F or more. Breezy and sweltering by afternoon. A cold front approaches late, sparking scattered showers and storms—some possibly strong if they develop during peak heating.
• High: 94 to 97°F | Low: 69 to 71°F | Wind: SW at 8 to 10 mph, gusts to 20 mph
• Sky: Mostly sunny early, with increasing clouds and late-day storms possible
• Chance of rain: 30%
• Dew point: 70 to 74°F (oppressive)

Saturday, July 26 – Cooler, but still muggy
Behind the front, temperatures ease back into the low 80s. Dew points remain elevated early, but some drying works in later in the day. Skies feature a mix of sun and clouds, and it feels more comfortable than Friday, though not completely crisp.
• High: 80 to 82°F | Low: 63 to 65°F | Wind: NE at 6 to 8 mph
• Sky: Partly sunny with more filtered sunshine by afternoon
• Chance of rain: 10%
• Dew point: 64 to 68°F

Sunday, July 27 – Clouds and scattered showers
Moisture and instability return as a weak disturbance moves through. Expect lots of clouds, a few breaks of sun, and the chance for scattered showers or a thunderstorm, especially late in the day.
• High: 78 to 80°F | Low: 63 to 65°F | Wind: SE at 5 to 7 mph
• Sky: Mostly cloudy with spotty sun and p.m. showers possible
• Chance of rain: 30%
• Dew point: 66 to 70°F

Monday, July 28 – Dry and pleasant
High pressure returns with sunshine, lighter winds, and noticeably lower humidity. A refreshing start to the week and a great day for any outdoor activities.
• High: 80 to 82°F | Low: 65 to 67°F | Wind: NNE at 5 to 7 mph
• Sky: Mostly sunny all day
• Chance of rain: 5%
• Dew point: 58 to 62°F

Tuesday, July 29 – Warming back up
Temperatures begin to rebound as southerly flow resumes. Humidity remains modest, but the warmer air mass is noticeable. A dry day with ample sunshine and light winds.
• High: 86 to 88°F | Low: 66 to 68°F | Wind: SW at 5 to 7 mph
• Sky: Mostly sunny with a few passing afternoon clouds
• Chance of rain: 5%
• Dew point: 62 to 66°F

Wednesday, July 30 – Hot and more humid
The midweek heat returns. Highs climb to near 90°F with rising dew points making it feel more oppressive. A few pop-up storms are possible late in the day as the atmosphere becomes more unstable.
• High: 88 to 90°F | Low: 68 to 70°F | Wind: SSW at 6 to 8 mph
• Sky: Mostly sunny early, partly cloudy late with isolated p.m. storms
• Chance of rain: 20%
• Dew point: 66 to 70°F

Thursday, July 31 – Muggy with storm chances

• Sky: Partly sunny with afternoon showers or storms
• Chance of rain: 30%
• Dew point: 68 to 72°F

Friday, August 1 – Unsettled summer pattern
August starts unsettled as warmth and humidity linger ahead of another potential disturbance. A few afternoon storms may pop up, but the bigger story may be the trend toward cooler weather behind this system.
• High: 84 to 86°F | Low: 67 to 69°F | Wind: SW at 6 to 8 mph
• Sky: Partly sunny with scattered showers or storms possible late
• Chance of rain: 30%

Wellesley weather forecast for July 10-18, 2025

July 10, 2025 by Matthew Moll

weather consultingHere’s the updated daily weather forecast by Meteorologist Matthew Moll of New England Weather Consulting:

Weather Outlook: July 10 to July 18

A bit of a weather rollercoaster sets up across the area this week. The forecast begins with clouds, fog, and locally heavy downpours as a slow-moving front lingers nearby. Conditions gradually improve by the weekend, with dry weather, brightening skies, and seasonable warmth. Then, from Monday through midweek, summer arrives in full force. A southwest flow brings rising temperatures and muggy air, with highs soaring into the upper 80s and low 90s. A few scattered afternoon thunderstorms are possible, but most days will be dominated by heat, humidity, and hazy sunshine.

Thursday, July 10 – Damp, humid, and potentially soaking
A slow-moving front hangs over southern New England, keeping skies cloudy and the air sticky. Showers and embedded downpours are likely, especially late morning into early afternoon. The Weather Prediction Center has placed the region in a marginal risk for excessive rainfall. Localized flooding in poor drainage areas is something to watch for.
• High: 73 to 75°F | Low: 63 to 65°F | Wind: East at 5 to 8 mph
• Sky: Cloudy with patchy fog and periods of showers or heavy rain
• Chance of rain: 80%
• Dew point: 66 to 70°F (very humid)

Friday, July 11 – Slow clearing, slightly warmer

Morning clouds and fog will give way to partial sunshine, especially inland. A welcome step toward more pleasant summer weather, with comfortable temps and only modest humidity.
• High: 80 to 82°F | Low: 65 to 67°F | Wind: ESE at 4 to 6 mph
• Sky: Mostly cloudy early, turning partly sunny
• Chance of rain: 10%
• Dew point: 62 to 66°F

Saturday, July 12 – Fog early, then classic summer
Morning fog gives way to a mix of sun and clouds by midday. High pressure keeps conditions dry, with temps in the low 80s and manageable humidity.
• High: 82 to 84°F | Low: 65 to 67°F | Wind: East at 5 to 7 mph
• Sky: Fog early, then partly sunny
• Chance of rain: 10%
• Dew point: 62 to 66°F

Sunday, July 13 – Warmer and more humid
South winds return, sending temperatures upward and pushing humidity back into the “muggy” zone. Sun, haze, and a few high clouds dominate the sky. A pop-up inland storm is possible, but most areas stay dry.
• High: 85 to 87°F | Low: 66 to 68°F | Wind: South at 6 to 9 mph
• Sky: Partly sunny and hazy
• Chance of rain: 15%
• Dew point: 66 to 70°F

Monday, July 14 – Hot and humid with a storm chance
Southwest winds bring a noticeable jump in heat and humidity. Highs rise into the upper 80s, and a weak disturbance may trigger a few scattered afternoon thunderstorms—mainly inland. While no organized severe threat is expected, some uncertainty remains.
• High: 86 to 88°F | Low: 69 to 71°F | Wind: SW at 5 to 8 mph
• Sky: Mostly sunny early, becoming hazy and partly cloudy late
• Chance of rain: 20% (mainly mid to late afternoon)
• Dew point: 68 to 72°F

Tuesday, July 15 – Very hot and sticky
The heat ramps up further as southwest flow continues. Forecast guidance shows a 40–50% chance of temperatures exceeding 90°F, with oppressive humidity making it feel even hotter. A stray afternoon thunderstorm is possible, but most areas stay dry.
• High: 89 to 92°F | Low: 70 to 72°F | Wind: WSW at 4 to 7 mph
• Sky: Partly sunny with haze and afternoon cumulus
• Chance of rain: 20%
• Dew point: 70 to 74°F

Wednesday, July 16 – More heat, more haze
The hot and humid pattern holds strong. Temperatures again flirt with 90°F, and the chance of a spot thunderstorm returns during peak heating. While wind shear remains weak, a pulse storm or two can’t be ruled out.
• High: 88 to 90°F | Low: 70 to 72°F | Wind: West at 5 to 8 mph
• Sky: Hazy sun with developing clouds in the afternoon
• Chance of rain: 25%
• Dew point: 70 to 73°F

Thursday, July 17 – Slight break from the heat
A weak frontal boundary may slide through, offering some modest relief. Humidity drops just a bit, and highs settle back into the mid-80s. Still summery, but slightly less oppressive.
• High: 84 to 87°F | Low: 68 to 70°F | Wind: NNW at 5 to 7 mph
• Sky: Partly sunny
• Chance of rain: 15%
• Dew point: 64 to 68°F

• Sky: Mostly sunny
• Chance of rain: 5%

Here’s the updated daily weather forecast from Friday, July 4th to Thursday, July 10th by Meteorologist Matthew Moll of New England Weather Consulting:

The upcoming stretch features a classic run of summer weather. After a hot, stormy start to the week, a cold front clears the region just in time for Independence Day, ushering in drier and more comfortable air. High pressure then dominates much of the holiday weekend, keeping skies mostly sunny and humidity at bay. Wellesley, Mass., weather forecast for June 26-July 4, 2025

June 25, 2025 by Matthew Moll

weather consultingHere’s the updated daily weather forecast from Thursday, June 26th to Friday, July 4th by Meteorologist Matthew Moll of New England Weather Consulting:

Relief is here. A backdoor cold front has swept through the region, dropping temperatures and humidity dramatically across Eastern Massachusetts. The transition from oppressive to refreshing is already underway, with highs in the 70s for several days. Expect low clouds, onshore breezes, and occasional showers as cooler marine air dominates. Heading into next week, the pattern flips again as warming resumes by Sunday with 80s returning, and the potential for thunderstorms increases. The first days of July may flirt with summer heat again.

Looking ahead to Independence Day, an early read suggests warm and mostly sunny weather for July 4 across Eastern Massachusetts, great for outdoor plans. However, as of this writing it’s still several days out, so we will keep you posted if there are any significant changes.

Thursday, June 26
Cool, overcast conditions settle in as marine air flows in behind the cold front. Temperatures will be 20 to 30 degrees cooler than earlier in the week, with noticeably lower humidity. A few stray showers could form in the afternoon, but most of the day remains dry.
• High: 70 to 72°F | Low: 60°F | Wind: E 6 to 9 mph
• Sky: Mostly cloudy throughout the day
• Chance of Rain: 20 percent (late-day spot shower possible)
• Dew Point: 55 to 58°F (Comfortable)

Friday, June 27
The cool pattern continues with thick cloud cover and a few passing morning showers. Temperatures stay well below normal for late June, especially with persistent easterly winds and limited sunshine.
• High: 68 to 70°F | Low: 59°F | Wind: E 5 to 8 mph
• Sky: Mostly cloudy to overcast
• Chance of Rain: 30 percent (morning showers)
• Dew Point: 58 to 61°F (Becoming sticky)

Saturday, June 28
An unsettled and damp day across much of the region. Expect a mix of showers and possible thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. While it won’t be a washout, it’s a good idea to have indoor backup plans.
• High: 69 to 71°F | Low: 62°F | Wind: E 6 to 8 mph
• Sky: Mostly cloudy with increasing afternoon showers
• Chance of Rain: 60 percent (afternoon and evening storms possible)
• Dew Point: 62 to 65°F (Humid)

Sunday, June 29
Lingering clouds and spotty morning showers gradually clear, allowing for a few breaks of sunshine later in the day. Temperatures begin to rise slightly as winds turn more northeasterly.
• High: 72 to 74°F | Low: 63°F | Wind: NE 5 to 7 mph
• Sky: Mostly cloudy with some late breaks of sun
• Chance of Rain: 30 percent (morning showers)
• Dew Point: 63 to 66°F (Humid)

Monday, June 30

• High: 84 to 86°F | Low: 68°F | Wind: S 6 to 9 mph
• Sky: Partly sunny
• Dew Point: 65 to 68°F (Sticky)

Tuesday, July 1
Hot and humid conditions return. A disturbance may trigger afternoon or evening thunderstorms, some of which could be strong. Expect a typical midsummer feel with uncomfortable air.
• High: 86 to 89°F | Low: 70°F | Wind: SW 8 to 12 mph
• Sky: Partly sunny early, with clouds and storms developing later
• Chance of Rain: 60 percent (afternoon and evening storms likely)
• Dew Point: 67 to 71°F (Oppressive)

Wednesday, July 2
A more stable and slightly less humid day, though it still feels very much like summer. After a few clouds early, sunshine should dominate. A stray pop-up shower is possible, but most areas stay dry.
• High: 86 to 88°F | Low: 68°F | Wind: W 6 to 9 mph
• Sky: Mostly sunny with a few late clouds
• Chance of Rain: 20 percent (slight storm chance late)
