NOTICE OF AN IN-PERSON PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING

Project File No. 605313

An In-Person Public Information Meeting will be hosted at Wilson Middle School, at 22 Rutledge Road, Natick, MA, 01760, to present a status update for the Route 27 and Route 9 Bridge Replacement and Interchange Improvements in Natick.

WHEN: Thursday, March 26, 2026, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

WHERE: Wilson Middle School, 22 Rutledge Road, Natick, MA, 01760

PURPOSE: The purpose of this meeting is to update the public on the status of the bridge replacement project and interchange improvements. MassDOT will present the project background, the schedule and construction phasing, the right-of-way process, project landscaping, public involvement, and next steps. The meeting will include a presentation by the project team followed by a question-and-answer session. All views and comments will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

PROJECT: This project will include the replacement of the structurally deficient Bridge No. N-03-020 which carries North Main Street (Route 27) over Worcester Street (Route 9) and consists of the reconfiguration of the interchange to a modified Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) configuration. The reconfiguration will provide safety improvements, reduced traffic congestion through the interchange, and improved bicycle and pedestrian facilities using separated shared use paths and sidewalks. The project length is approximately 3,850 feet along Route 9 and 2,120 feet along Route 27. The work will also include transit stops along Route 27 and Route 9 along with reconstructed sidewalks, drainage improvements, traffic signals, retaining walls, utility relocations, signing, roadway lighting, and landscaping.

This meeting is accessible to people with disabilities. MassDOT provides reasonable accommodations and/or language assistance free of charge upon request (e.g., interpreters in American Sign Language and languages other than English, live captioning, videos, assistive listening devices and alternate material formats), as available. In accordance with Chapter 40A, Section 9, of the Massachusetts General Laws, and Section 5.6 of the Zoning Bylaw, the Wellesley Planning Board, acting as Special Permit Granting Authority, will hold a public hearing on the application of Babson College, for a Special Permit for a Project of Significant Impact project located at 231 Forest Street, Wellesley, MA 02482 (also known as 6 Bryant Way). The proposed project will entail the redevelopment of an existing parking garage into a new Executive Lodge and Conference Center (the project), which will consist of approximately 77,600 square feet of hospitality space, including guestrooms, function/meeting areas, a fitness center and restaurant space.

The purpose of the Project of Significant Impact (PSI) Special Permit is to address off-site impacts of projects involving construction of 10,000 or more square feet of floor area in seven specific areas: water, sewer, storm drainage, electric power, solid waste, fire protection and life safety, and traffic and pedestrian safety. The permitting review is administered by the Planning Board in accordance with Section 5.6, Project Approval, of the Zoning Bylaw, and the Rules Relative to the Issuance of Special Permits adopted by the Planning Board.

Residents with any questions or who are seeking to participate in the hearing are encouraged to contact the Planning Director at earbeene@wellesleyma.gov prior to the meeting.

2024 Annual Town Meeting

The Select Board will convene the Annual Town at the Wellesley High School Auditorium on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 7:00 P.M.  The Warrant for the Annual Town Meeting will close at 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

Any person desiring to have an article included in the Warrant for the Annual Town Meeting shall submit a petition signed by not less than ten (10) registered voters of the Town.  Any such petition shall be submitted to the Town Clerk for signature verification.

After being signed by the Select Board, the full text of the Annual Town Meeting Warrant will be available from the Select Board Office located temporarily at 888 Worcester Street, Suite 120 Wellesley, MA and on the Town’s website (www.wellesleyma.gov).

Motions to be offered to the Annual Town Meeting must be submitted digitally to the Select Board Office at sel@wellesleyma.gov by 5:00 pm on Friday, February 2, 2024.
