Wellesley has two community gardens with over 100 plots for residents to rent for a nominal yearly fee.
Get on the waitlist now for the 2026 gardening season
The NRC serves as administrator for two community gardens in Wellesley that provide rental plots to residents.
One garden is located on Brookside Road and the other garden is located on Weston Road. The garden plots are assigned in February. There is a waiting list for both Brookside and Weston Road Community Gardens.
The NRC is currently accepting names for the wait list at both community gardens.

Brookside Community Gardens
There are 40 garden plots at Brookside, and they cover a total of about 2.4 acres. They land is located on the south side of Oakland Street between Standish Rd. and Brookside Rd. in a residential area. Part of the property abuts the Wellesley Country Club, and Rosemary Town Forest is across the street.

Prospective gardeners may apply beginning in January for a plot at Brookside or Weston Community Gardens, however, there is a waiting list for plots. To get on the waitlist, email communitygardens@wellesleyma.gov
Weston Road Gardens
There are about 90 plots in a 2.5 acre space at the Weston Road Gardens. The area is part of the North 40, a 46-acre parcel that the town purchased from Wellesley College for $35 million in 2014.

The Natural Resources Council serves as administrator for both Brookside and the Weston Road Community Gardens. These gardens are licensed by independent resident gardening boards.
