Annual students’ basic rights meeting
October 16, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Interim Head of Student Services of the Wellesley Public Schools (WPS) Arlene Argir will present the WPS annual basic rights meeting on behalf of the district on Tuesday, October 16, 9am, at the Wellesley Police Station. Coffee will be provided by the Wellesley Parent Advisory Council (PAC).
Do you know your child’s rights? According to the National Institutes of Health, fifteen percent of America’s school children have a learning disability or learn differently. Under US Federal Law, there is a process to identify and provide services to these children. Join us to learn about this process.
PAC is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization of parents, and caregivers of children with disabilities from pre-school to age 22 attending Wellesley public schools and private school settings. The purpose of the PAC is to support families whose children receive special education services. We work with the Wellesley Public School Administrators and town committees to help kids on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) have a positive learning experience. PAC provides general information through meetings, lectures and online resources.
