Submit your event/s. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc.  This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.

No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.

Click here if you’re looking to advertise on our site, including ads that appear within the calendar.

We also appreciate any contributions to support our independent journalism venture.

Thanks, Deborah & Bob

Bandaloop at Wellesley College

October 21, 2017 @ 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm

  • « Meadowbrook School Open House, Weston
  • Bandaloop at Wellesley College »

Performances

Saturday, October 21: 12:30, 2:30, and 4:30 PM
On the exterior walls of Pendleton West, Wellesley College, next to Davis Museum

Performances:
Saturday, October 21: 12:30, 2:30, and 4:30 PM

Whether dancing on an urban heritage site or hanging off cliffs in the Yosemite National Park, the company brings an extraordinary sensitivity to the site, combining aesthetics with a deep love and respect for the natural and built environment. All the dancers in the company’s current roster have a modern dance background, and receive rigorous training in strength and aerial technique to master the company’s signature vertical dance style. “They turn gravity sideways, tweaking an immutable law of physics with the illusory powers of a magician,” writes a Houston Chronicle critic.

This acclaimed and unique company will present six short (15-minute) performances during four days of public celebration, with live music performed by Wellesley music faculty. In addition to the six performances on Friday and Saturday, Bandaloop’s rehearsals will be visible throughout the week to passers-by. Sunday will be a rain date for all Bandaloop performances.
