Beebe Meadow Annual Clean Up
EVENT: Beebe Meadow Clean Up

DESCRIPTION: In 2017, neighborhood Master Gardener, Joan Minklei, initiated a remarkable project to enhance the beauty of Beebe meadow. Over the years, the community has diligently worked to clear away dead trees, debris, and combat aggressive invasive species such as bittersweet, honeysuckle, multiflora rose, and buckthorn, allowing native pollinators like milkweed, pye weed, and goldenrod to thrive. Volunteers have restored the Beebe Meadow sign, added a lovely bench, and planted over 1000 daffodils.
Come to work or just to show support—even a half hour will make a difference; no gardening experience necessary. Volunteers will be pulling and cutting invasive plants, picking up trash, trimming dead limbs, and removing a lot of the debris to a dumpster the town will be providing. If you have a student who needs community service hours, they can get credit. Plenty for younger kids to help with as well! Please leave the doggies at home.
Suggested gear:
- White or light colored socks pulled up over the bottom of your pants OR wear tall boots (TICKS, mud, thorns)
- Garden Gloves (even tall dishwashing gloves, thicker is better)
- A hat if it’s sunny (let’s hope so)
- Sunglasses or other protective eyewear
- BUG SPRAY
- Garden tools (extra if you have them): clippers, rakes, pruners, loppers, hand saws (All marked with your name – we’ll have extra labels on hand also)
