Disney’s Descendants, The Musical
Join Wellesley Theatre Project (WTP), as we get “Rotten to the Core” in DISNEY’S DESCENDANTS, THE MUSICAL on Friday May 5th at 5pm & 8pm, Saturday May 6th at 2pm & 6pm and Sunday May 7th at 2pm & 6pm. All performances will take place at the The Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College located at 19 Babson College Drive, Wellesley, MA 02482. Tickets are priced $18 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, and may be purchased online at http://wellesleytheatreproject.org in advance, or at the door for $20 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. Seating is limited.
DISNEY’S DESCENDANTS, THE MUSICAL is a brand new musical based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies. Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island…until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?
DISNEY’S DESCENDANTS, THE MUSICAL features two talented cast, composed of a total of 82 students between the ages of seven and eighteen. Cast members of DISNEY’S DESCENDANTS reside in Wellesley as well as other communities including Natick, Needham, Newton, Waban, Weston, Lexington, Westwood, and North Attleboro. The production staff includes: Ben Rush, Director & Production Designer; David Wright, Music Director; Erica Lundin, Choreographer; Alexa Brooke Lambert, Stage Manager; and Ben Gilman, Assistant Director. DISNEY’S DESCENDANTS, THE MUSICAL has a book and additional lyrics by Nick Blaemire, music adaptation and vocal & incidental arrangements by Madeline Smith, orchestrations and music produced by Matthew Tishler. It is based on the Disney Channel Original Movies written by Johann McGibbon and Sara Parriott and is produced through special arrangements with Musical Theatre International.
Wellesley Theatre Project is an award winning arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students (PreK – 12th Grade) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps.
Registration is open for WTP’s 2016 Summer Camps. Sessions include three production camps geared for students between 2nd and 12th grade in addition to one week Theatre Arts camps for Pre K-12th grade. The production camps are: Disney’s Winnie The Pooh, Kids (Grades 2-8), The Spongebob Musical (Grades 2-12), and Disney’s Freaky Friday (Grades 8-12).
