Submit your event/s here. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc. This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.
No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.
We also appreciate any contributions to support our independent journalism venture.

Goethe String Quartet concert at Wellesley College
Inspired by Goethe’s description of quartet playing as “a conversation between four intelligent people,” the Goethe String Quartet is an international ensemble that is quickly gaining a reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting string quartets.
The program on Oct. 4 at 4pm at Wellesley College’s Jewett Auditorium will include a world premiere of a new string quartet written for the Goethe String Quartet by 2026 Guggenheim Fellow and Wellesley College Professor Reinaldo Moya, as well as works by Eleanor Alberga and Ludwig van Beethoven.
Moya’s new work takes its inspiration from the writings of the quartet’s namesake and includes a central movement, Farbkreis, reflecting on Goethe’s color wheel theory. The GSQ will pair Moya’s work with String Quartet No. 2 by Eleanor Alberga, the renowned British-Jamaican composer with whom the GSQ has a close relationship, and one of Beethoven’s beloved Razumovsky quartets, Op. 59 No. 2.
This event is free and open to the public.
