Lyndon B. Johnson history lecture at Waterstone at Wellesley (April 24)
Waterstone at Wellesley will welcome Professor Gary Hylander on Tuesday, April 24 at 3 p.m. for a presentation on Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society. The Great Society was a series of political initiatives aimed at ending poverty, reducing crime, abolishing inequality and improving the environment. It’s been called one of the largest social reform plans in American history. A professor of history at Stonehill College, Hylander earned his doctorate from Boston College and specializes as a presidential historian. He is a frequent presenter at library forums and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at University of Massachusetts Boston, and is often featured as a commentator on local cable news and radio.
