Submit your event/s here. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc. This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.
No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.
We also appreciate any contributions to support our independent journalism venture.
Thanks, Deborah & Bob

MBTA Communities with Wellesley Executive Director Meghan Jop
October 16, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Meghan Jop, executive director for Wellesley, will discuss the MBTA Communities program and what that means for Wellesley. The Housing Choice legislation, passed in 2021, requires towns in Massachusetts to update their zoning to enable multi-family housing of 15 units/acre to be built “by right” in transportation hubs. Wellesley has certain requirements based on our commuter rail stations and current housing inventory. Learn what they are and what we need to do to meet the requirements. (Spoiler alert: Town Meeting action is most likely required.) Her presentation, with Q&A, will go until about 4:00pm.
After Jop’s presentation our meeting will continue with general updates on housing in Wellesley. Please stay for the discussion.
Register in advance for this meeting.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
