Submit your event/s. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc. This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.
No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.
We also appreciate any contributions to support our independent journalism venture.
Thanks, Deborah & Bob

Movie : “The 13th”
February 3, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeCome see the movie “The 13th” A Documentary by Ava DuVernay (director of Selma) On Saturday, February 3. 4-7:30pm at Wellesley Friends Meeting (Quaker), 26 Benvenue Street, Wellesley, MA 02481. Stay for pizza and discussion
After the Civil War, the thirteenth amendment to the Constitution banned slavery, “except as a punishment for crime.” DuVernay documents how this “loophole” has been used to deprive African-Americans of their rights and has led to the present day prison-industrial complex. The movie contains some graphic scenes of violence. It is appropriate for children in middle school and older.
