Submit your event/s here. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc.  This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.

No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.

Seize the day and join Wellesley Theatre Project (WTP), as we present NEWSIES on Thursday July 28th and Friday, July 29th at 7pm and Saturday, July 9th at 2pm. All performances will take place at the Sorenson Center at Babson College, located at 19 Babson College Drive, Wellesley, MA 02482. Tickets are priced $18 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, and may be purchased online at http://wellesleytheatreproject.org in advance, or at the door for $20 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. All audience members are required to wear a mask.

Join us as we carry the banner in NEWSIES, the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged “newsies.” When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what’s right! Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein., and your favorite musical numbers like, “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe.”

NEWSIES features a talented cast, composed of 49 students between the ages of seven and eighteen. Cast members of  NEWSIES  reside in Wellesley as well as other communities including Natick, Needham, Dedham, Weston, Newton, North Easton, Wayland, Cambridge, Waltham, Lexington and Norway. The production staff includes: Ben Rush, Director & Scenic/Lighting Designer; Hannah Shihdanian, Choreographer; Eric Anderson Jr, Music Director; Alexa Brooke Lambert, Prop Master; Ash Long, Costume Designer, Bec Lowe, Assistant Costume Designer, Samantha Adams; Assistant Director. NEWSIES features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by Harvey Fierstein, and is based on the Disney film written by Bob Tzudiker and Noni White. The production was originally produced for Broadway by Disney Theatrical Productions and is produced through special arrangements with Musical Theater International.

Wellesley Theatre Project is an award winning arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students (PreK – 12th Grade) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps. Registration is also open for WTP’s 2022 Summer Camps. Sessions include production camps geared for students between 2nd and 12th grade in addition to one week Theatre Arts camps for 4 years through 12th grade. The last production camp of the summer is Guys and Dolls (Grades 8-12).
