Submit your event/s here. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc. This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.
No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.
We also appreciate any contributions to support our independent journalism venture.
Thanks, Deborah & Bob

Novelist, Sena Desai Gopal: The story behind her book, The 86th Village
April 4 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Author visit at Wellesley Free Library main branch, 530 Washington St.
Sena Desai Gopal grew up in a village in Southern India whose days are numbered – in her lifetime it will drown in the backwaters of one of India’s biggest, most ambitious dams, The Upper Krishna Project. 167 villages will go underwater, and more than 123,000 families will be displaced. The government does not have a concrete rehabilitation plan for these people. Her novel is based in a village like Yadahalli that is doomed to drown but has, miraculously, escaped flooding so far. The setting is non-fiction but the story and characters are fiction. It is a story of love, hate, deception and corruption, but good ultimately prevails.
