Submit your event/s. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc. This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.
No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.
We also appreciate any contributions to support our independent journalism venture.
Thanks, Deborah & Bob

Unitarian Universalists of Wellesley to screen marriage equality documentary
November 5, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
This past June marked the two-year anniversary of Obergefell vs. Hodges, the Supreme Court case which affirmed marriage equality as a nation-wide civil right. Summer film festivals marked the milestone by showing “The Freedom to Marry,” a documentary released in March. That film now comes to Wellesley, sponsored by the LGBTQ Interest Group of the Unitarian Universalists of Wellesley.
The film tells the inside story of the decades-long campaign to permit same-sex couples to marry. It follows Evan Wolfson, the architect of the movement, and Mary Bonauto, the main litigator, from the earliest days to the final dash to the Supreme Court.
“The Freedom to Marry” will be shown at noon on Sunday, November 5, at 309 Washington St., Wellesley. Light lunch provided. For more information, call 781-431-7423 or visit uuwellesley.org .
