Wellesley Choral Society concert: Magnificent Magnificats

The Wellesley Choral Society presents its fall concert on Sunday, November 11th at 4:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Wellesley Hills, 309 Washington St. The concert theme is Magnificent Magnificats composed between the 16th and 20th centuries. The centerpiece of the concert will be Vivaldi’s Magnificat (RV610/611) and the Magnificats of Palestrina, Monteverdi, Scheidt, Charpentier, Vaughn Williams, Rachmaninoff, and Ireland will frame the Vivaldi. The chorus, led by its Music Director, Edward Whalen, will be accompanied by a professional string quartet, continuo, and soloists. A reception follows the concert. The church is handicapped accessible and there is ample free parking in the church lot and on the street. Tickets are available at the door: general admission $20, and seniors/students $15, (children under 12 are free). Visit www.wellesleychoralsociety.org for further information.
