Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc.  This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.

No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.

Wellesley Choral Society rehearsals

June 14, 2027 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Wellesley Choral Society

The Wellesley Choral Society, under the direction of Edward Whalen, is pleased to announce its 2026-2027 season and seeks all interested singers.

The organization is a non-auditioned chorus, open to singers of high school age and above.  All voice parts are welcome.  Members are from Wellesley and many other communities.  Rehearsals begin on Monday, Sept. 14 at 7pm with the first of three consecutive open rehearsals (9/14, 9/21, 9/28), for potential new singers to get to know the group.  After that, rehearsals are ongoing every Monday, at the same location and time. Rehearsals are held at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Wellesley Hills, 309 Washington St. from 7-9pm.  The church is accessible and there is ample free parking in the church lot. The chorus performs a variety of music from traditionally classical to world premieres, and popular music for its Winter Cabaret.

On Nov. 22, the group’s fall concert, “Music for Chorus and Brass,” will feature works by Cruger, Purcell, Pachelbel, Pinkham, Whalen, and Gilbert & Sullivan.

The Winter Cabaret, on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2027 is called “Songs of the Sea” and will feature works from genres representing different aspects of the nautical world.

The season concludes on May 9, 2027 with “A Bach Bash”, featuring music by members of the Bach family.
