Submit your event/s. Note that we limit event listings mainly to free or inexpensive public events in Wellesley, such as talks, films, theatre productions, concerts, etc. This is not a place for businesses to promote themselves, their classes, etc. Please don’t submit events that run for weeks and weeks. We approve event listings before they go live, typically within 24 hours.
No business sales, trunk shows, etc. (those would be paid advertisements). Please go easy on the ALL CAPS, exclamation points!!!!, etc.
We also appreciate any contributions to support our independent journalism venture.
Thanks, Deborah & Bob

EVENT: COA Public Listening Session
LOCATION: Tolles Parsons Center, 500 Washington St.
DATE: Jan. 2, 2020
TIME: 2pm – 3:30pm
Wellesley COA Mission Statement:
The mission of the Wellesley Council on Aging is to serve as the primary resource for residents over the age of 60; to empower individuals to reach their goals; to offer comprehensive programs, services, and assistance that optimize quality of life; and to enable meaningful connections and collaborations that inspire a spirit of community across the generations in our town.
COA volunteer opportunities:
The Council on Aging serves lunch to senior citizens four days a week—Tuesdays to Fridays from noon to 1:00 p.m. By giving less than two hours of your time (11:30 a.m. to approximately 1:15 p.m.), you can make a difference to our daily lunch group.
Volunteer drivers are needed to help Wellesley senior citizens get to various destinations in and around Wellesley (non-medical and medical rides). Please email [email protected] or call 781-235-3046 for more information.
Special events are held once or twice a month, and volunteers are always needed to decorate, set up, serve refreshments, and clean up when the event is over.
Teachers & Activity Leaders
Please note that the Council on Aging is required by law to conduct a CORI (Criminal Offense Record Inquiry) check on volunteers and employees over the age of 18, pursuant to M.G.L. c. 6, s 172C, which requires an agency conduct a CORI check on volunteers and prospective employees who have particular duties and responsibilities relative to the elderly and /or disabled under specific conditions set forth in the law. As part of this requirement, the Council on Aging requests a copy of a prospective volunteer’s photo ID.
