Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club reception
February 6 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
The WHJWC will hold a reception to celebrate the history exhibit on Wednesday, February 6, 6:60pm – 8:30pm. All past and present Juniors are invited to the reception, which is open to the public.
The exhibit at the Wellesley Free Library will explore the history of the club and how it got going in 1944 as a spin-off of the Wellesley Hills Women’s Club for “business girls, a few college girls, and some young married girls with young children.”
From that beginning, the WHJWC has addressed issues such as mental health, hunger, access to education, bullying, poverty and domestic violence. Today, the club volunteers for and funds organizations that make a positive impact in the community, and raises scholarship money to make college dreams possible.
