Join historian Jeffrey Boutwell for a compelling look at the life and legacy of George S. Boutwell, a Massachusetts statesman whose career spanned some of the most pivotal decades in American history. From humble beginnings to becoming the Commonwealth’s youngest governor, Boutwell emerged as a leading voice in the formation of the Republican Party and a close ally to Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant.
Free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
