Wellesley Theatre Project presents: “The Sound of Music”
EVENT: WTP’s very first all-ages community production of one of the most beloved musicals of all time, The Sound of Music!
DATE/TIME: July 31st, 7:30pm
LOCATION: Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College (19 Babson College Drive, Wellesley, MA 02481).
Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students and seniors when purchased in advance at www.wellesleytheatreproject.org, or $35 for adults and $20 for students and seniors at the door.
Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music has won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision.
