The Wellesley Recreation Commission consists of 5 elected members, who meet regularly to review policy, programs, procedures and the fee structure for programs run by the Wellesley Recreation Department. The Rec Department offers programs year round and publishes seasonal brochures for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Registration is held 4 times a year.
The Rec Commission’s mission statement is, “To increase people’s enjoyment of living in Wellesley and build a deeper sense of community, as we provide recreational and educational opportunities to all Wellesley residents, regardless of age, ability and means.”

Rec Commission members are unpaid volunteers.
The director of the Wellesley Recreation Department is Matt Chin. Matt is a full-time, paid Town employee.
Recreation Facilities
All recreation facilities are maintained by the Park and Tree Division of Wellesley Department of Public Works.
