July 2024—The Wellesley Square commuter rail station got a huge infusion of funding to add two accessible freestanding mini-high platforms that will provide level boarding with the Worcester to Boston train cars. Scheduled to be completed January 2025, the project has been made possible by $500,000 in federal accessibility funding secured by Congresswoman Katherine Clark, and nearly 10 years of advocacy on the part of local families.
