A scene we came across last week at the Thunder sporting goods store. A store employee asked if anyone might have lost a piece of jewelry — a heart pendant covered in diamonds. A woman whose heart palpitations could be heard throughout the store — and probably across Wellesley Square — quickly claimed the piece, noting that it had fallen off her necklace. “I can tell by your reaction that those must be real,” we commented. The woman replied: “I just had it replaced after it was stolen over the summer” and noted that it wouldn’t have gone down real well at home if she’d lost the jewelry.
