Wrap Up Your Holidays at the Hills Branch Library
Avoid nosy family members peeking at what you’re wrapping. Bring your gifts to Hills Branch Library during open hours December 7 – 21. You’ll find a work area set up with all the needed supplies; wrap, tissue, bags, bows, tags and more. Roll up your sleeves and get it done.

Holiday Concert: Kareem Sanjaghi Band
The Kareem Sanjaghi Band will perform a jazz Holiday concert. The band features Joe ‘Sonny” Barbato (piano), Chris Rathbun (bass), & Kareem (drums). Free and open to the public.

Gingerbread Houses
Create your own festive Gingerbread House in the crafts room at the Main Library. Using graham crackers and royal icing, kids can make an individual gingerbread house then decorate it to their heart’s content. Three sessions are being offered; participants may sign up for ONLY ONE of the sessions. This program is best for children ages 4-14 years old. Sign up online starting on December 2. Gingerbread materials are not guaranteed to be allergy safe. Please contact the Children’s Room if you need accommodation.

Sankta Lucia Story and Craft
Kids ages 5-10 are invited to the Main Library for Sankta Lucia Story and Craft. Celebrate the festival of Sankta Lucia, a Swedish and Norwegian cultural holiday where celebrators mark the historical shortest day of the year with songs, food, and dressing like Lucia, in a white robe and a wreath of candles. Listen to the music, read a story, make paper candle wreaths, and eat pepparkakor (ginger cookies). Register starting December 5.

Holiday Singalong with David Polansky
Songs for Christmas, Hannukah, and Kwanzaa, and winter favorites from popular musical performer David Polansky. This program is for every age, and is certain to get you into the holiday spirit. Polansky will present a repertoire of classic holiday songs as well as original compositions. He is an award-winning singer, musician and composer who performs throughout New England. Free and open to the public.

LEGO Winter Village
The LEGO Winter Village created by Nick Tatar returns to the Wellesley Free Library, 530 Washington St., from Sunday, December 15 through the end of the month. Come see Santa’s workshop, the Clock Tower, and exciting winter scenes all made of LEGO. This remarkable festive display will delight families with children of all ages.
A Royal Tea with the Snow Sisters
The Snow Sisters invite the young townsfolk of Wellesley and surrounding areas to a Royal Tea. They will read an exciting story of their adventures, sing songs, and pose for pictures while snacks are served. Costumes encouraged. Drop-in, no registration required.

Giant Snowpeople Craft
Stop by the library to construct Super-Sized Snowpeople (up to 4′ tall). Everything you’ll need to create your paper snowperson will be available – you bring the imagination and the library will supply the markers. Then you can leave your Snowpeople to decorate the Children’s Room until February 1st, or take them home to celebrate the snow.
