Hills Library to close for renovations June 1, 2026

The Library is moving forward with plans to enhance the historic Hills Branch, with a focus on updating the interior while honoring its 1920s architectural character. These improvements will build on the branch’s existing beauty and functionality, creating an even more comfortable and accessible quiet space for reading and study.

With the support of a generous donation and The Wellesley Free Library Foundation, the Hills Branch will close beginning June 1 to undertake this work. Please note that, starting May 6, patrons will be unable to place holds on items located at the Hills Branch.

The project is expected to be completed in fall 2026. During the closure, we encourage patrons to visit the Main Library and the Fells Branch for collections, programs, and services.
