Big news, spring cleaning just got easier
March 2026–The Wellesley RDF Reusables Area will open in early April, weather permitting. Specific dates are to be determined. Please watch for upcoming announcements.
Wellesley-based organizations are permitted to advertise their event for one week with a display banner over the Recycling and Disposal Facility (RDF) access road. Given that over 12k vehicles come in and out of the facility daily, that’s pretty good exposure. Best of all, this advertising space is free. The cost of supplying the banner to the RDF is on the organization, though.

To keep driver distraction to a minimum, only one banner at a time may be hung over the long road that leads to the recycling area and beyond, so the competition for space can be fierce. The RDF allows groups to apply for space up to seven months in advance, and there are rules that must be followed such as proof of insurance for events.
There’s also a pecking order. Town business such as elections get top priority; official Town community events come next; then Wellesley non-profits and churches; followed by everyone else. No banners promoting for-profit concerns, private interests, or political messages are allowed.
