Over $2.3 million has been awarded in the last 10 years to sponsor programs and initiatives that inspire the love of learning in the Wellesley Public Schools.

Red Apple program
The WEF Red Apple Program is a meaningful way for parents and students to show their appreciation for a teacher or staff member by making a gift to the Wellesley Education Foundation in his or her name. It’s a wonderful opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of the educators and staff members of our school district. Donations can be made via the WEF website.
Each teacher/staff member honored receives a letter noting the donor’s recognition and a magnet they can display in their classroom. Teachers love this visible reminder that a family has honored their contributions in the classroom and beyond.
Grants program
One way WEF works toward public schools innovation and excellence is by funding grants each year for public school educators.
The deadline for submitting all grant applications is January 21, 2025. We’ll post about recipients when WEF makes their decisions.

Annual Spelling Bee
The Wellesley High School cafeteria was abuzz with Spelling Bee excitement for the second time in 2023 as the Wellesley Education Foundation got the fundraiser back on track to its traditional fall timing after COVID messed with the natural order of, well, everything for a couple of years.
