Where to picnic in Wellesley

Picnicking options are many in Wellesley, from town parks to ballfields to playgrounds. Here is a sampling (this page is a work in progress…more picnicking suggestions will be added as we go along)

May 2026–In theory, one could picnic at the DPW campus at 20 Municipal Way. But the area looks more like a tick sanctuary than a place for a leisurely al fresco lunch. Maybe renewing the spot will be included as part of the DPW Campus/Municipal Service Building Feasibility Study. Town Meeting in April 2026 voted to approve spending $858,000 from free cash for a DPW Campus/Municipal Service Building Feasibility Study.

Take a lunch break before you set off for a hike through Kelly Memorial Park. (The parking lot is at 68 Elmwood Rd.) Once fortified, see if you can find Fairy Rock along the trail.
