The sequel: $20K Wellesley dump book mystery still unsolved

The Townsman provides an update on the Marlborough man who last year found a hollowed out book at the Wellesley Recycling & Disposal Facility. The man, who wanted to return the money to its rightful owner, said he has been inundated with emails from would-be swindlers as well as by the media and well wishers. But still no luck finding the original owner of the book/$20K in cash.

The man said he has used some of the cash, sort of as a loan to himself, to travel to Brazil and get some dental work done. But he’s still willing to give the entire bundle of cash back to the original owner (he has money to cover the chunk of it he spent) if someone legit steps forward by early next month.
