Wellesley girl scouts kicking things off with fall activities

Girl Scouts Troop 73505, whose Cadette group is for 6th-8th graders who live or go to school in Wellesley, is having its kickoff meeting on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 5:15pm at a pizza spot in Wellesley Square.

Later, there is a paddle sports day, and October will feature opportunities to earn the Democracy Badge and other badges of interest. During the holidays, the focus is on community service.

Throughout the year, girls plan and lead fun events for younger troops. This can include archery, ice skating, and traditional camp activities. In June, the money earned by the troop is used to treat everyone to a day at Canobie Lake Park.

Monthly meetings are on Sunday, either late afternoon or early evening. The fee is $125, plus the cost of troop activities. Financial assistance is available.
