What you might have missed in Wellesley over the summer
Yes, Wellesley is quieter in the summer, with far less traffic, easier to access parking, and fewer kids scrambling around. But that’s not to say nothing was happening.
Here’s a recap:
- The 100-year-old Hardy Elementary School was torn down on Weston Road (so definitely not.a quiet summer for neighbors), and the new Hardy school adjacent to it has opened.
- Several restaurants opened—Dryft in Linden Square, Popovers at Church Square, and Pho Station in Wellesley Hills. Karma in Linden Square? Still working on it. Soon opening: black & blue in Wellesley Square.
Pho Station
- $500K in fresh federal funding will make the Wellesley Square train station accessible.
- On the housing front, proposed projects at Walnut Street and Washington Court made headway, while a new plan emerged for property at 489 Worcester St., after a condo plan was called off.
