Parking in Wellesley can be a challenge, but there are options.
Annual Parking Permits now online
Do you regularly purchase a permit to park in Wellesley municipal lots? Did you know annual parking permit applications and payments are accepted online via the OpenGov portal. This is the same system used for all other Town of Wellesley online permits.
This process allows customers to apply for and purchase annual permits easily without having to rely on USPS or a trip to the Parking Clerk office at Town Hall. The registration(s) provided will be digitally recorded as “paid in full” for the year. Unlike in prior years, parking permit holders will not need to display anything in your vehicle
Please check the Town website to apply for your 2026 Annual Parking Permit.

General info:
On-street parking
Metered on-street parking is available Monday – Saturday at the rate of 5¢ for 5 minutes, 10¢ for 10 minutes, 25¢ for 30 minutes, and 50¢ for a full hour. Wellesley is the only town in the area that still takes nickels and dimes at parking meters.
Off-street parking
Off-street parking is available in Wellesley’s Commuter and Business lots. These lots offer a variety of 2-hour, 4-hour, 10-hour, and all-day spaces. Annual passes for all-day parking may be purchased from the Office of the Town Treasurer and Parking Clerk. Residents are entitled to annual passes at a discounted rate.
Parking updates
Feb. 2025–The Department of Public Works is reminding residents to refrain from parking vehicles on public roadways or in public parking lots during snow storms.
Vehicles parked in these areas during storms impact the Town’s ability to safely and properly remove snow and make roads safe for travel. Instead, vehicles should be parked in driveways and other off-the-road locations to allow plows to clear streets.
Also, please remember that Town of Wellesley bylaws prohibit the parking of vehicles overnight on public ways.
Snow removal and clean up activities commonly take place during overnight hours, and vehicles parked in the public way impede this process. Vehicles parked overnight in the public way may be ticketed and/or towed.
