We appreciate all of our advertising support. It helps cover the cost of running The Swellesley Report and providing an independent and community-focused news source for the town. The Swellesley Report is the online news source that tells you “more than you really want to know about Wellesley, Massachusetts.” We cover whatever is going on in the community from schools to everyday occurrences, always in our inimitable Swellesley style. Our readers are educated, many are affluent, and they all want to know about the best that’s out there for themselves and their families.

According to our Google Analytics reports, we get about 47,000 active users per month. The Swellesley Report’s social media presence of more than 17,200 followers continues to grow with 8,100 Facebook followers; about 5,200 on Instagram; and 3,900 on Twitter.

We also have about 3,400 subscribers to our email newsletter, sent weekdays (and sometimes on the weekend).

About 60% of our website readers are women between the ages of 25 and 55. They are college educated and have a median household income of $148,000.

The best way to reach Wellesley residents is to advertise on The Swellesley Report.

And to reach an even wider audience, ask us about advertising in both Swellesley and our Natick Report.

Sponsored front-page posts

Choice of two formats:

  • 250 words, two pictures about your business or non-profit. Client does the writing and supplies the picture(s).
  • A large flyer-style ad, sized 500 x 600.

A Sponsored Post starts as our top front-page story. It then drops down as we get new stories, however, it remains on the front page of the site for its entire one-week run.

Rate: $400/week

Sponsor a specific post

An advertiser may sponsor any of our posts, such as our weekly Business Buzz post, the police report, or more. The post leads with a 50-word blurb that starts with “The following post is sponsored by…”, and an 540 x 150 image.
Rate: $100/week

Note: Regarding Business Buzz, our regular round-ups of business news… We post about businesses when they are coming or going in town, or if there is something newsworthy that occurs such as a move to a new location. We do not post about sales, trunk shows, etc. except as part of noted sponsored content. Business buzz is a news round-up, though we will sometimes include a clearly identified ad within it.

Sponsor an Instagram post

Reach our 6,800-plus Instagram followers with a Swellesley partnership. Our readers love The Swellesley Report’s Insta feed, and generally give each posted pic 100+ likes, along with comments. Videos typically receive 500+ views.

Rate: $300/post

Promoted Event listing on our Calendar of Events:

$50 per calendar event.

Event Flyers

We often get asked to include event listings on our calendar, which we’re happy to do. But we generally reserve posting flyers (jpg images) on our site as advertisements.

Rate: $150 per flyer

Legal notices

We accept and encourage government agencies and bodies to post paid legal notices on Swellesley. In Massachusetts, local government bodies are required to adhere to clearly outdated rules for posting legal notices in “print” newspapers, even though most don’t read these anymore. We ask that you pay us as much as you pay these traditional media sources (or feel free to pay us more…).
