How Wellesley town government is organized

December 24, 2025 by Bob Brown Leave a Comment

Here’s the latest rendition of the town of Wellesley’s government organization chart, where voters sit on top.

The chart goes down to the director level, so doesn’t reflect some leadership positions, such as the Transportation & Mobility Manager, a position under the Select Board’s office approved by Town Meeting last year.

One thing we noticed is that Town Counsel is shown more prominently in the 2025 chart vs. the 2024 one, though the position maintains the same connections. Given that the town spent $442k in FY25 with Town Counsel vs. $312k the previous fiscal year, it certainly deserves higher placement.
